The Last Mile

Associate Logistics Engineer

Full-Time in Roseville, CA - $65k - $70k

Overview

The Engineering team remotely manages our Platform as a Service (PaaS), which runs in correctional facilities across the country. Additionally, we support business operations for the organization in a hybrid workplace, with the majority of our teams being either full, or part time remote. Our ability to provide timely, coordinated logistics for our partners, as well as in support of our internal teams is crucial in maintaining the productivity of our operations.

This is a highly collaborative role which will work closely within the Engineering department, as well as engaging with Classroom Operations to build an exemplary experience for our facility partners. Daily engagements for this role will range from working with engineering to determine procurement needs, to remotely assisting facilities with plug and play installations.

Responsibilities

The Associate Logistics Engineer is the bridge between our technical operations, and the deployment of the physical platforms we manage. This includes the lifecycle of coordinating procurement, inventory management, detailed device and connection labeling, shipping, receiving, and communication with relevant internal and external partners.

Because our support for facilities is 100% remote, we place a great deal of emphasis on requiring minimal (if any) technical knowledge to physically install our solutions. Part of this role will be working to ensure that each element of our deployments is as turn-key as possible for partners, with clear and simple documentation, easy access to support if required, and an installation outcome consistent with our standards.

The incumbent will be a key stakeholder in introducing ongoing improvements to ticket driven processes which result in outcome driven success, clarity of status, and accountability in our workflows.

Work with other members of the Engineering team to:

  • Build systems and implement processes to support efficient ingestion, coordination and outcome focused delivery of efforts
  • Balance workload priorities to drive outcomes across relevant stakeholders
  • Continually expand our catalog of runbooks and resources for supporting remote hardware
  • Plan capacity for upcoming additions, upgrades, and changes

Required Skills and Experience:

  • A passion for problem solving in challenging conditions, and empowering people through technology
  • Strong verbal, and written communication skills
  • Well organized, and detail oriented
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs
  • A fundamental understanding of computer hardware and peripherals

Bonus Points for:

  • Experience using ticket driven workflows

Annual Salary: 55,000-65,000 adjusted based on experience and location
